When sparkle and velvet go hand-in-hand, the champagne is flowing and dancing shoes come out to play, you know it’s the holidays. And every year, we all ask the same question, “What should I wear for my holiday parties?” I’m sharing the top trends for holiday and my favorite looks the office party, dinner out with friends, a friend’s cocktail party, and a night out with the girls.

TOP TRENDS FOR HOLIDAY

Trending for holiday this year: sequins, metallic, and velvet. Three of my favorite trends. I’ve rounded up some head-turing pieces for holiday parties with prices ranging from high to low for each of these fun trends. Think metallic tops paired with flare jeans, a sequins suit for a cocktail party, velvet pants paired with sequins jacket or a metallic dress. Dress these pieces up for upscale cocktails partiers, or dress them down for a night out with friends.

Almost everything below is on sale and some of it is up to 70% off. If it is not on sale, you can earn a gift card with purchase.

THE HOLIDAY OFFICE PARTY

Office parties can be a bit tricky. Everyone wants to look good, but these are still your co-workers or your spouse’s co-workers so there is a fine line between what you can and cannot wear. Less is not more in this case. Err on the conservative side. This goes without saying, but I am saying it because I may have seen a few things (I would rather forget) in my lifetime. Rules to live by: Make sure you can bend over without exposing body parts you don’t want your boss to see. If you go the suit route, a low-cut suit is 100% okay, as long as you are not showing the girls to the world.

For an office party, a velvet suit is always a great look. It’s festive, appropriate and chic, and you can wear the pieces as separates. Wear the pants with an off-the-shoulder metallic top and strappy heels, or wear it as full suit with a cami top. Add the strappy heels, statement earrings and fun clutch to finish the look.

A great option that bridges the gap between office and cocktail is pairing a sequins skirt with a sweater. The sequins add a fun holiday feel, but you’re still office appropriate.

Or pair a camisole top with a sequins fringe skirt. This gives it the party polish, but with the longer sequins pencil skirt, you’re still not showing too much.

For dress options, if you go short, keep the arms covered. The blazer dress is always a great look. It’s still fun, but not over-the-top.

A NIGHT ON THE TOWN

For a night out, have a little fun. Add a more whimsical top paired with coated denim as seen below. It’s chic and stylish without being over-the-top.

For dinner with friends, a sequins jacket with velvet legging is one of my favorite looks. If you want it to feel more casual, pair it with lighter denim.

GIRLS’ NIGHT

If you’re going out with the girls, the options are endless. For a look that has an extra pop, the dark pink sequins top paired with the feather trimmed jeans is perfect. The gold sleeveless top or low-cut metallic v-neck blouse with velvet pants or bootcut jeans is also a win. Add a fun pair of heels to finish the look. To keep it casual, “but make it holiday” metallic jeans with a sweater is a go-to.

WHAT TO WEAR: HOLIDAY COCKTAIL PARTY

For a holiday party that is not with your boss, time to have a little fun. Break out the deep v, the sassy dresses, and statement pieces you would not normally wear. The Fame & Partner sequins dress is s show-stopper and so is the teal velvet dress, which is also 25% off.
