The holiday season is here, and it’s time to get your wardrobe ready for company parties, cocktail parties and everything in between. I love a good dress, but sometimes it’s fun to change it up a bit. I’ve rounded up four ways to dress for holiday without wearing a dress.
The Suit
One of my favorite looks this season: the velvet suit. Rachel Zoe does it well, as always, with a chic red or blue velvet option to add a pop of color. This is look works with or without a cami underneath the blazer. If you are a little more risque, go bare. If not, I’ve included two of my top picks for the season. Wear this to a work holiday party, friend’s Christmas cocktail hour or dinner on the town.
You can never go wrong with a cream suit. This is timeless and elegant. For something like this, plan to spend a bit more because you are going to keep this for years to come. This will never go out of style. Winter white is a chic way to keep lighten up your holiday party look.
Sequins Pants
One of the fun trends for holiday is sequins pants. The key with this: make sure your top half has more of a conservative polish. The chicest way to wear this? Pair it with a velvet blazer or tuxedo jacket, cami and strappy heels. I’ve linked two pairs of leggings and a pair of flared sequins pants in silver. This is a great look for the night you don’t want to go too bold with a sequins party dress, but want to have a little fun with your look.
Sequins Blazer
A sequins blazer is a fun way to add a little shimmer to the more traditional holiday attire. If you need a break from dresses, and want to keep the look more casual, but still holiday appropriate, this is a win. Pair this with a cute mid-length skirt and cami, or keep it more classic with a sheer white button down and vegan leather leggings.
Jumpsuit
If you have not embraced this trend in the last several years, you don’t know what you are missing. It’s the equivalent of wearing pjs to a party, but you still get to look cute while doing it. There are tons to choose from ranging from velvet, sequins to plunging neckline and strapless. With a solid jumpsuit, add bold accessories to finish the look. If you go for the bold with sequins, keep your bag and earrings simple and elegant.
