BOHO CHIC

It’s 0° here today and I am laser-focused on a warm vacation getaway.  Like the Groundhog that is about to come out and see his shadow here tomorrow, I too, have to wait at least 6 weeks to see warmth or sun, and p.s. it won’t be in Wisconsin (no sun until June).  I am hanging on by a frozen thread.

But, it will all be worth it when we finally get out of here and land in Panama.  I am so excited to see Central America. The trip will definitely have a casual vibe to it with some island hopping on the Pacific side. I know I am going to be packing a ton of pieces by Johnny Was.  Their clothing is one part whimsical, one part bohemian-chic and all things L.A. cool-girl. I love their fun pieces and their resort collection will be perfect for the trip.

I was lucky enough to partner with them over the holidays.  I’ve definitely have a soft spot for the brand.   For the holidays, I chose some understated pieces that I could mix and match with various others. But, I can’t wait to wear long, flowy floral dresses, bright whites, bohemian tops,  and patterned, lightweight pants from this brand. I am very excited to share everything about the trip with you guys and all the fun looks.

In the meantime, sharing a few of my favorite winter looks and pieces from this fun boho lifestyle brand.

Charmeuse Dress

This slate gray charmeuse slip dress is a personal favorite.  You can dress this piece up or down. I’ve shown it two ways, with a velvet bomber jacket from Johnny Was that is sadly, sold out, but I’ve linked a similar option from them below. I love the dress on its own with a black onyx statement necklace.

This dress comes in three colors: black, cream and the slate grey (shown).  I would size down in this dress.  It is definitely more forgiving.  What I love about it:  the dress is seasonless, elegant, and timeless. You can wear it for a winter soiree or a summer cocktail hour, and when paired with a bomber jacket, kimono or the long cashmere ombre sweater, shown below, it’s perfect for a date night or a more casual affair. I’ve shown it with some basic nude heels (these are keepers) and a fun wood watch by Jord in rose gold.

The Tunic

This tunic is one of my favorite pieces from the line. I definitely have an addiction to black in winter. Who am I kidding,  it’s year-round, but I love a little black dress like this that you can wear from day-to-night.

This one is lightweight, short enough so you can take it out on the town, but not too risqué that you could not add a pair of tights and wear it to the office. I love it for an everyday-look paired with over-the-knee boots.  The floral details on this give it a bohemian feel, but the black keeps it chic. I’ve paired this with a favorite pair of Marc Fisher boots, linked above, and Jule Vos jewels.

Cashmere Cardigan

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways… Seriously, this is the sweater you want to cuddle up in while sitting in front of fire with a glass of wine.  It’s also the one you want to wear when you are traveling because it will keep you warm, but not uncomfortably so as temperatures always change on planes. And it’s perfect with a cute skirt, and heels or over-the- knee boots, or with jeans, heels a cute camisole top.  It goes distance. Size down in this.  If you add one more sweater to your collection, put this at the top of your shopping cart.

These pieces from Johnny Was have that easy chic mood I love so much! The slip dress is my absolute favorite: minimal and flattering, it can be dressed up or down. The textured tunic is adorable too, and I’m a fan of cashmere cardigans! If you say they have a resort collection too I’m heading to check it out straightaway! Love, Valeria
