CAPE ME AWAY

I had the best time shooting so many great looks for the Navy Knot.  It was almost impossible to narrow down everything I wanted to share because they have such an incredible variety of pieces to choose from, but I do have a favorite piece from their fall line: the leopard cape. It’s one of the best pieces to have on hand for cooler days and nights.

I’ve shown it two ways below: with a simple blue tank, and jeans for day, and over a white peplum top and black leggings for an evening look, all linked. I love the leopard print with jewel tones: cobalt blue, emerald green, and fuchsia, as much as I do with grays, browns and blacks. This cape is such a chic piece and a great throw-back style to finish-the-look in a unique way.

Off to the Races

This is the perfect look for fall races, wine tastings, tail-gating and any and all outdoor fall festivals.  Change out the tank for a lightweight cashmere sweater or striped button down and it will work well into November. I’ve added over-the-knee boots in cognac and my favorite leather belt to tie the look together. This would also be perfect with skinny jeans and booties or a pair of nude or black ballet flats.  I finished the look with some pieces by Julie Vos; I love her line. It’s classic with a modern twist and adds a touch of refined elegance.

On the Town

Pair the cape with vegan leather leggings and you have the perfect look for a night out in the city.  It works for dinner and cocktails, and this can easily transition to a holiday party look by adding a statement necklace and strappy sandals. Or wear it with a simple cocktail dress, or pencil skirt and camisole top with patent leather heels to create a polished look.  I am wearing Julie Vos earrings and bangles and black booties to finish the night-out look.
