Gone are the days of me picking out whatever I want my little ones to wear. Who else is with me? They are 4 and 6, and definitely have a voice in the dressing process- go figure. But, luckily they love pretty dresses and cute tops so that’s good, but not if you are the bank account. In this case though, everyone wins.
Through Wednesday of next week, everything at the J.Crew Factory store is 50% off, site-wide. Say, what? I do feel like a church choir should have started signing hallelujah when I wrote 50% off site-wide. That’s major. I’ve rounded up my favorite girls’ pieces from the sale, along with my favorite shoe brand for girls.
Dresses
My girls love dresses and wear them year-round, but finding ones that are reasonably priced, will last and look cute can be a challenge. I love finding a deal, but there are a lot of brands out there that do not last. I want anything I buy to last a season+, and then some, because I will hand it down and then hand it off to friends’ kids. The quality of these are great.
The sleeveless jeweled dress was a clear winner. It’s thick, it has pockets, and my oldest is wearing it for her first day of school, in fact she was sleeping in it when I went in to kiss her goodnight. Clearly she got the memo to be prepared.:) This will be adorable with a pink cardigan, navy tights or hot pink for winter. Kids love layers that they can add/remove and then they feel like they have really created their own outfit (wink).
The navy gingham dress will look great with a pair of red tights, white or navy, and a cardigan when it gets a bit colder. The striped dress with the peach bottom is a touch thinner than the rest, but with a good pair of heavy navy or white tights, this can work well through fall and into the early part of winter. The pink tulle one- well, that’s just too good not get for your little princess.
Sweaters
Alright, Moms, who else has a hard time finding sweaters that are loose enough to allow for some winter growing room, will keep the kids warm and look cute? The only other brand I know that does it well, is Milly Mini, but the price points are a bit higher.
J.Crew has got great options. The navy and pink sweater is absolutely adorable and looks great with the navy glitter dot leggings. I love the gingham shirt tail hem sweater. That is a great one to add. It will cover their booties in leggings and it hangs nicely. Same with the striped ruffle hem. Mix the solid navy with the zig zag leggings and do a red legging or solid color with the gingham. The gray peplum sweater is just adorable and can go with anything from jeans to leggings.
Last, I included one cardigan, but this cardigan comes in multiple colors. Out of all the colors we’ve bought over the years, navy and pink are worn the most. If you are adding two, those would be the colors to start with.
Bottoms
I love the selection of leggings at J.Crew. I have included two styles. The zig zag and the glitter dot are true leggings in terms of weight and fit. They come in a few other styles and colors. The red ones are best-sellers, a little thicker and are good when the kids want to wear leggings as pants.
I also included a really cute skirt that comes in grey and navy. Skirts can be a little tough in terms of fit around the wait if they have a zipper. This has an elastic waist, is a thicker fabric , and is high quality. I kept most of the pieces in one color family this year to allow for a lot more versatility and mixing this fall and winter.
Shoes
I got the girls three pairs of Yosi Samra shoes last year and they loved them. I lucked out and found them at a really good price, and I was able to find a bunch that are on sale right now in tons of different colors and styles. What I love about these is that they are slip-ons, the kids love them, and the styles are so cute. I won’t pay full price for these shoes because they are definitely done by the end of the season (and they have outgrown them), but on sale, these can’t be beat. I’ve included some basics and a few fun ones.
Accessories
I could not resist. The little cake purse, flower headband, and the heart locket and charm necklace are too cute for words. If not for your little one, these make great birthday and holiday gifts.
