Does anyone remember the commercial with the tag line, “Make a statement without saying a word?” I do, but that’s really only because it was etched (burned) into my brain during rush week; we used it one of our skits. Well…this top is one of those statement pieces that does just that, and p.s. I’m fine with it.
This is a Parker top, and like all of Parker’s clothing, the attention to detail is incredible. Parker’s design are feminine, flirty, a little sassy, and always interesting. Their stuff runs true to size and the quality is consistently good (and they are having a major sale right now). I love the weightless ruffle details on this top, pastel color scheme and the smocked neck. And, not to point out the obvious, but I really appreciate that one of my arms will stay warm when it starts getting cold (the things we do for fashion…). But, seriously, this is a fun piece to add to or to start your statement top collection. The color pallet is flattering on all skin tones, and the one-shoulder with the high neck-line gives this a chic edge for fall.
I’ve paired it with 7 for All Mankind frayed denim and Vince Camuto heels. This top would also look great with navy or grey coated denim, or navy cigarette pants. I have on statement earrings and a simple cuff. With a top like this, minimal accessories like a stud or a hoop are perfect, but I love statement earrings so I went a little bigger; however, I still kept the color neutral.
I’ve linked a few denim and pants options below, along with some jewelry I love from a cool Virgina-based designer, Drift Riot. Their pieces are super chic, modern-minimalist and well-made. The Molten Hoops featured below are incredible and will go with anything, but would be perfect for this look.
